Located at 3,020 feet above mean sea level, on the Deccan plateau in Southern India, the city experiences pleasant summers and chilly winters. Welcome to SMR Bengaluru

Bengaluru is the center of India's high-tech industry, the city is also known for its parks and nightlife. By Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha is a Neo-Dravidian legislative building. Former royal residences include 19th century Bengaluru Palace, modeled after England’s Windsor Castle, and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, an 18th-century teak structure.

The local language, Kannada, is one of the oldest Indian languages and is estimated to be 2000 years old.

Bengaluru has highest percentage of engineers in the world, with more than a million IT professionals making the city their home.

In 1906, Bengaluru became one of the first cities in India to have electricity from hydro power.

The Bugle Rock is a massive rock in the Basavanagudi area of Bengaluru. The rock has been assessed to be 300 million years old.  Kempe Gowda II (who came to power in 1585) built a watch tower on the top  of Bugle Rock, since it used to command a panoramic view of Bengalore  city.
